Our Story

United General Supply Co., Inc. is a family-owned design, import, and distribution company proudly based in Houston, Texas.

Established in 1984, LEE TOOLS® was born from the vision of founder Lawrence Lee, whose name still drives the brand today. What began as a small tool company—selling tools at local flea markets—quickly earned a reputation across Texas for offering dependable tools at unbeatable prices. As word spread, LEE Tools grew beyond its local roots. Our product line expanded to include hand tools, power tools, automotive tools, striking tools, and more—serving everyone from weekend DIYers to professional tradespeople. With growing demand came wider reach, and today LEE Tools is distributed nationwide and across South and Central America.

In 2004, we introduced LEIGH COUNTRY®, a rustic outdoor furniture and décor brand inspired by our love of family, the outdoors, and Authentic Country Living. Since then, LEIGH COUNTRY has steadily grown, establishing a strong presence in both brick-and-mortar retail and e-commerce. Our products are available through local hardware and furniture stores, as well as on more than 30 major online platforms—including Amazon, Wayfair, and The Home Depot. In 2020, we launched our direct-to-consumer website, LeighCountry.com, to better connect with our customers and bring country living straight to their doorstep.

In 2021, we expanded our capabilities with the launch of Leigh Manufacturing, initiating partial North American production in 2023 to better serve our growing customer base.

From humble beginnings to supplying customers ranging from small-town hardware and grocery stores to global retailers like Walmart, The Home Depot, and Amazon, our journey is a testament to the power of perseverance, family values, teamwork, and staying true to our roots.

Lawrence Lee and his family continue to lead United General Supply Co., Inc. and its signature brands: LEE TOOLS and LEIGH COUNTRY.
